Rushie events! Run and organised by Geoffrey's "cyber fans".
Nothing planned by me personally at present - I'm skint-broke! - but here's hoping we'll all be able to arrange another meet-up for Geoffy's future theatre projects!
A group of eight Rushies (from all over the globe!) converged on New York to see Geoffrey Rush in his Broadway debut, starring as King Berenger in Eugene Ionesco's "Exit the King". The show was playing at the Ethel Barrymore theatre and we were fortunate enough to be able meet up with teh Master after the show and spend some time with him.
The UK Rushie Meet was organised by myself and took place in Birmingham, where we met up and went to see Geoffrey's then-latest film Elizabeth: The Golden Age together, after which we went to Pizza Hut for an after-movie meal and some Rush-orientated discussion!

The Gala featured a UK preview screening of Elizabeth: The Golden Age at the recently refurbished "Cinema City" in Norwich, with special appearances by Geoffrey Rush and the film's director Shekhar Kapur. The film was followed by a filmed Question and Answer session, and after the Q&A, there was a light buffet supper. To read my report of the day, click the link below:
